{To Design} Daily Dishonesty Type

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you have seen these, but if not.. y'all are in for a treat! Lauren Hom is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator in NYC. I have such admiration for designers who can do hand-drawn type well, and this girl has it nailed! Plus, she has created a super quirky, wonderful site called dailydishonesty.com where she publishes awesome illustrated type designs with sayings about just that... things we lie about, to ourselves or to others daily. It's one of those things where you can relate to nearly all of them and so it evokes a lot of chuckles and sighs. "Yeeeup. I also that say I will go to gym before work tomorrow."

The caption on her site is Lovely little lies from a hungry graphic designer, and she has a page where you can send in your own lovely lies for her to make into little works of art :) I think it's a fantastic way to practice her talents daily, and to promote herself as a designer. Nice one ladeh! Here are some of my favourites, but go have a look for yourself.

Marc Johns to Kick Off 2012

HAPPY 2012 readers of awesomeNess!! Go forth and conquer. Now, I really do love a bit of random, weird humour.. So when I saw Marc John's Illustrations popping up all over the web it was the start of a scrolling session on his site that last hours.. Hours I say!! Simple, quirky and yet so relevant. I love them. SO here are a few for you, but go to his site to see more: marcjohns.com

Oooh this one is my favourite:

:) He mocks society, with delightful dashes of sarcasm and ironically, positivity. I also take his work to be appreciative of the people who are a bit different, those who dance to their own unique tune. Nice.

Appreciation Station {Darling Clementine}

As we come ever closer to Christmas, one can't help but notice the usual garlands of red and green, the obscene amounts of glitter, sliver tinsel and loud type beckoning people to buy everything in sight!So, it was a relief for me to see some stationery design that was whimsical, slightly retro, quirky and clean.. and really captures the joy behind giving gifts. Not limiting themselves to paper, they also make cushions and trays.

The description on their blog says: WE’RE DARLING CLEMENTINE; WE DESIGN, ILLUSTRATE, INVENT, MAKE GOOD COFFEE AND ABOVE ALL HAVE A GREAT TIME AT WORK!

Sounds like my kind of place! Here is some of their lovely work, for Christmas and more:

These French themed ones are very cute :)
