Ooooooh!! I did an earlier post on Garance Doré, and I do so luurve her illustrations! So, today I would like to show you the print she has designed for Kate Spade. This brand is so classy, yet fun, with amazing use of pattern and colour, so this will fit in perfectly! Click on the image below to see a larger version.
See example of mentioned class and fun:
Tom Davie's work...rocks. He is studiotwentysix2, a muti-medium design agency in Chicago. His work has so much depth and the typography below often has a tongue-in-cheek, other meaning to it. All this whilst using very little colour and often sticking solely with black and white. On his site it says: "Tom has worked as an artist, graphic designer and design educator. He received a Master of Fine Art in Visual Communication from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (where he was awarded a full-tuition merit scholarship), and has taught graphic design at the university level for several years."
Impressive. So here's some of his awesome typography work for y'all to enjoy :)
No longer associated with ze olden times, this amazing form of printing is still used today and while the designs are much more daring and modern, the method is pretty much the same. Artists who excel at Letterpress tend to be brilliant with typography as can be seen by the examples below:
Letterpress designs range from the elegant detail as seen below...
to clean, simple prints which are accentuated by the indents and embossing created by the pressure of the plate.
This one made me smile... :)
